The Ismaili Trust & Ismaili Community
The Ismaili Trust is a faith-based charity which seeks to work for the benefit of the Ismaili Community and, in particular, for the relief of poverty and advancement of education. The charity also aims to support members of the community at the time of bereavement, by providing support and facilities for burials.
The Ismaili Community are united around centuries old tradition of serving others by providing voluntary service to improve the quality of life of the communities in which they live, regardless of faith, gender, and background. This endeavour reflects the community’s ethic of civic engagement and good citizenship, exemplifying Islam’s core values of service, peace, compassion, and care for the vulnerable. The Ismaili Trust works to this end.
Some notable previous engagements in the UK include:
- Volunteering at the Brighton Marathon
- Partnering with Hands on London’s ‘Wrap Up London’ campaign
- Providing a number of Games Makers during the London 2012 Olympics.
Examples of these and other activities can be found on the Ismaili Trust’s website here.
